Alex if you are suggesting that people make their own cable then please remember that you'll need 2 extra pins and some wire too to make the 7th connection.

Alex I've sent you a PM with price for the standard cable with resistors. My LCI look cable will be released shortly but only after I receive my own set of tail lights to test it before I release it.

First set of completely "plug and play" cables are ready and going out to a guy on the M5 board.

These are made from all OEM parts and a heavy duty heat sinked Resistor specially designed for LED lights, just in case its needed. The only OEM part I couldn't find was the fabric tape used for wiring looms, my dealer ran out of stock of them. The tape used is fabric tape but the shiny type not the cloth type that BMW uses. The cables have absolutely no cuts of splicing in the cables. All joints are soldered at the connectors itself.
This cable will not have the LCI lights effect but will light up all the new LEDs etc. All original functions of the car should be retained i.e. Brake, Fog, Brake Force Display, Reverse, Turn and Daytime Running Lights.
Any one else interested can PM me. This is the cheapest of the cables. I'll be introducing more variations later once I can do some more work on these and I receive my own set of lights to test out my cables.
I'm away most of next week so in case you don't hear from me you know why.

Where does the resistor connect in relation to Nick's wiring diagram? Which pins? What are the specs on the size of resistor used?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

It was in my earlier diagram. The resistor used is a 50W 6R. Resistor only needed in case your car make the LED turn lights blink rapidly without them. However there is no harm done in case they are there but not needed.

it is looking alot like plug and play to me now
about the cable what is the part#...the 61 12 0 153 650?
or different ones?
i am curious how the euro lci taillight will go with the pins of US specs car.
later i'll find out, the lights are to arrive in couple of days.
