The only sure way may be to compare wheel weights. The knockoffs are obviously pretty good at cosmetically matching the OE's (hence the Replica nomenclature). The one sure difference tends to be in weight e.g. replicas are typically heavier than the OE's. You might have problems getting your wheel guy to weigh them though.....good luck.

search here, fist it can ONLY be 19" then inside (or back if you like) of rim you need to see brand: BBS and type: BMW and a number.

search and you will find many pics of proving what is O.E. what is fake, best BMW wheels ever

Ask Monacobmw. He probably has the most history with 166 replicas of all members. Fortunately, he now has OEM's after going through hell.

The OEMs have lots of numbers on the inside, not just the BBS. The paint should not bother you. The OEMs don't look much better from the inside than replicas. I noticed that the connection points with the hub were much different with my replicas, and the holes for the lugs are much deeper with the OEMs.
I could tell replicas in a second if I saw them, but there is not much you can read other than the mulitple symbols on the inside of the wheel.

If the replicas are that good that you cannot tell them apart, no one else will be able to tell them apart either.

Can you look at the inside and report back some of the numbers shown on the various spokes?

Thanks for replying everyone......well i guess the offset is correct for the front and rear....i think it was 81/2 19 ET12 or somthing for the front....
also it says "Germany".....not made in germany...just germany.....there are lots of numbers....but i dont want the shop to think i dont trust them by taking photographs....they said to me they are real...they'll show me the box...and stuff....must there be a BMW sign...or can anyone post a pic of the inside of a OEM 166 so i can see all the details?

Thank you guys so much
