How difficult is this to install?
Is it a simple muffler swap or is a change in exhaust pipe diameter required?

It's a simple install. Most shops will do it for $100 or less.

my biggest test was "the wife"! we went for a drive, both local and highway, and she did not say a word!!! not sure if you're a married man, but for those of us who are....this was a huge test!! lol
+1 Very true!! My wife surprisingly was THRILLED with the sound (miracles DO happen)! In fact , maybe it was the vibration or the sound, or both, but she couldn't wait to get home and put the kids to bed! WHO KNEW!! But I digress! Perhaps she will become a gearhead too??

After listening back to back and sometimes simutaneously to BMW's V10, V8, and I6 engines with custom exhaust, the V10 sounds very close if not indistinguishable from F1 formula. For trained ears, the V8 follows closely behind. The I6 at high revs will have the that F1 formula sound. But none sounds like a 4 cyclinder with a 4"-5" exhaust pipe engine.

Hope that helps.
