Yup !
I washed the car today and decided to try to unmount the tips with gildagjg's method and voil?!
5 minutes and they were off. They have clips inside that make them sit tight on the exhaust, so they will slide right back on when the time comes.
Here's a pic so you can see the clips:
Very easy job! For example if you liked to clean the tips throughouly, just take them off, clean, put back on !

Good job and thanks for posting. Mine desperately need a thorough clean.
Can you replace these tips with larger tips, e.g. from the 535d or 550i ? Would it be straight plug n' play, or are the pipes different sizes?

The 530i/xi/d pipes are oval. The 535i/xi/d, 545i/550i are round. Not compatible. You can check realoem.com to cross reference compatible parts.

Check my "Part 7".
Yea but you just re-used your stock tips. I don't want to do that. I want to rip those little tiny looking twigs off and put some fat ones on like from the 545 or 550. But, my problem is I don't know if they will fit AND where to get them? I called Napa auto parts, I called my dealer, (to see if they knew), I searched online...nothing.
JUST. CAN'T. FIND. PROPER. TIPS!
