I was thinking of painting my exhaust tip black. Is it even possible to paint the exhaust tips? I like the chrome look, but its too hard to keep shiny clean all the time with a diesel car. So I was thinking of painting it matte black, is it possible? If yes, how should it be done? and what paint to use? Thanks in advance for any help.

It's certainly possible to paint over it, but you'll need to prep the surface properly beforehand. You might want to consider sandblasting (non-toxic, cheaper approach) the tips to remove the chrome, leaving the bare metal.

Another option may be to use "2pack etch" to prep the surface for the proper primer adhesion. The material is poisonous and dangerous, and this process is probably best left to the professionals.

You can also clip and replace your existing tips --- As MacFly did.

Epoxy primer before paint will do it.

You can use hi-heat manifold paint, but the temp's not that high...
