It seems like there aren't that many exhaust options for the 535i? Does anyone know why this is? I'd like to upgrade my stock soon but it's really hard to find sound clips or even manufacturers for the 535i. Anyone have a list of what's available?

^^^High cost and low demand are why there aren't exhaust options for the 535i.

IIRC RPI used to make it and another vendor recently posted a group buy thread, but the discount cost was ridiculous (around $2K) for just exhaust pipes and mufflers that will only net 10-15hp.

im the same boat as you are man...i have been doing some time consuming research online and there are few options out there...
1. Magnaflow (roughly $900-1200)
2. Billy Boat 535TT (roughly $1100-1300)
3. Meisterschaft (roughly $1600-$2000) option of 4 different tips
4. Dinan (roughly $1200-1400)
5. RPi (roughly $2200-2400) hard to get this one as RPi doesnt make it anymore, however few websites are still offering it for sale.

Cant tell you the exact pricing and websites right now...but this should help you with your research.

I have been looking for an exhaust and have decided to go with Remus one. Remus emailed me that this exhaust will work for my 535i but that a muffler shop would need to custom install it.

I heard a REMUS exhaust on an M3 before and it sounded really nice...but I wonder how much would the shop charge for the mods...

Thank you! That definitely helps out. I just wish there were more options.

I'm getting ready to make the move for a dual system on my 08 535. A friend of mine did this as well. Purchased from Magnaflow a center muffler with X pipe and two smaller mufflers that mount just behind the exhaust tips. Then remove the battery cover from under the car and had the old system removed and new pipe ran. They did a GREAT job, much better than any system they are selling out there where they use only one muffler with a wrap around. At least when you look from the rear of his car everything looks symmetrical and not that is missing something on the right side...
