Hi. Here's a question that's been bugging me. If I purchase the Evolve Switch version of the re-map for my 530d for £699 I get the box to keep to switch between the uprated map and the cars standard map.

What I would like to know is... What's to stop me from then using this switch and software etc from downloading the map into another identical car?? I mean I could potentially charge fellow owners of the same model to re-map their cars for them!!??

Or, I could borrow or rent someone elses 'switch' to re-map my own car for far less £££

Anyone got one they want to let me borrow in the UK?? Lol

 

You cannot use the switch box to remap more than 1 car. The box knows if you have uploaded the new ECU map and will not let you do it again. The only way to remap another car is to first re-install the original map in the first car.

BTW, I am selling an Eveolve Switch box with BMW E60 530d remap as I've just sold the car (with the original map). The Evolve map made a big difference, never had it dyno'ed but Iram's (Evolve main man) claims seem pretty accurate. If you (or anyone else) are interested PM me.
