Hey Guys!
I wanted to throw a shout out to Vincent and the good team at EuroRev. After talking with the owner of Speed Innovation and of course Vincent about their ECU Remapping on Thursday, I decided to take the plunge and let em do their thang on my 08 550i Sport.
I've only driven her about 245 miles(computer still learning) since Friday but damn....MAJOR and NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT!
I have the Step and when driving in Manual Mode I'm extending redline *at least 1500 RPMs* and the torque improvement in 2nd thru 4th gear is noticeably better. I have not dynoed the car yet but the owner of Speed Innovations told me he'd be happy to do some testing on her at one of his shops(Van Nuys) to prove increased performance. In a couple of weeks, I'll definitely get over there and do it.
I was very reluctant at first due to the various Dinan Dealers/shops messing with me talking about "warranty void" etc. After speaking with Vincent and getting assurances (PM me if you want nitty gritty) and that his software is equal to or better than Dinan's(and undetectable unless BMW is specifically looking for it), I was sold. The owner of Speed Innovations also gave me his personal assurance they would fix and handle the problem should something go wrong.
I really like Vincent too. Cool guy and he will give you his honest opinion of what you should do/could do to improve your car---performance and aesthetics wise. He won't BS you or try and gross you into something not worthy.
If any of you are thinking of modding your V-8 or M-Car----these guys get a major seal of approval from me. Right now they have just moved to a new shop in Inglewood(always up to no good--:-)and are undergoing some serious renovation and movement adjustments. :-) It clearly doesn't affect the quality of their work.
Thanks to everybody who offered me advice and input about these guys.
So Cal
I don't work for EuroRev nor am I getting any sort of kickback-bird dog fee or "extra benefits" by singing their praises.
I've attached a couple of pics after just polishing her with TFP Polymer Sealant. (Incredible Stuff)

Eurorev staff are a bunch of honest cool people.I ordered a few things from them ,and I was able to get the lowest price in socal. Lowering, after marjet accesories I trust them and D2 the most. Vincent gave me alot of options regarding the quad exhaust, and was able to give me an on the phone quote quickly.

Fred,
Talk to Darwin. There isn't a need to drive to Socal for a remap. We'll talk about it over crawfish and crabs on Tuesday.

So when you say "at least", do you now have an 8000 rpm redline ... or higher (that exceeds the M5's 8250 rpm redline)??? I'd definitely like to see a pic of the tachometer exceeding 8K revs! Pics please!
I will take some pics if/when I can. It's not that high. My Step has this mysterious ability to shift when BMW wants it to shift. :-) Usually that's been at 6000RPMs or so.
Car is more explosive in 2nd and 3rd gear for sure.
Gotta run. Must continue to drive it!
