Your local parts department ... some keep them in stock, some will have to order them.
they are in your E60 accessories catalogue.

I would not use a screw driver. You just scratch your paint. I used dental floss and it came out nicely. I put 3 pieces of dental floss, each about 2 feet long behind the plastic insert. I went in from the side that is closest to the license plate. Give it a good tuck and the insert pop's out. You can then install the red reflector. Good luck!? You can send the $75 to me.?

I used basically the same principal as uwsc11 did, but instead of "dental floss" I used "fishing line". Now I am not a mechanic by no means, in fact I am "all thumbs", (LOL), but I had mine done without any problems in about 12 minutes.

PS,

I would stay away from using a screw driver, stick with doubling the "fishing the line" behind the plate with a "quick yank", like uwsc11 said in his post. (SEE ABOVE)

Thank you uwsc11, dental floss works.

Glad it worked. Using "mint" flavored dental floss makes all the difference!

Got my reflectors today and used the dental floss technique. Worked well, and the reflectors look good!

Installed the red reflectors today. Very easy job. I used thin wire to pull the old inserts out. Since the retainer spring (see picture) sits on the inside end (towards the license plate) it is best to slip in the wire, dental floss or whatever you want to use on this side. The red reflectors have a metal retainer spring, the original inserts have a plastic tab instead. One plastic tab broke off when I pulled the insert out, but there are some more plastic hooks along the edges. So if I ever wanted to put them back in it would probably still hold despite the broken tab.

Part numbers are: 63 14 6 915 039 (left) and 63 14 6 915 040 (right)

Bought them from Circle BMW, $11.90 each.

Looks much better with the reflectors. Sorry, didn't have time to wash the car before.
