Hows it goin? I've been looking for engine tuning software or remap for an 04 545i 6-speed in order to obtain some additional hp. Are there any vendors that offer this? I'd rather not ship out my ECU if I dont have to. I did search the forum but turned up nothing. I'd like to know which is the best for the money and any experiences to help make my decision. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I'm in the running for the same type of product. Check out what Dinan has to offer: http://www.dinancars.com/store/home.php?&cat=237

Thanks dude! I guess assumed I'd get more hp out of an engine tune. 8 hp just doesn't seem worth spending the $500 it costs for the Dinan software. I wonder if this is a typical hp gain from a software remap/tune??

Your location would help people to give you suggestions on where and what tune to get since you don't want to ship out your ECU.

Well, that's sorta the problem. I'm in Albuquerque, New Mexico so there really aren't too many shops in the area that do this sort of thing for BMW's. I do know an indy shop that does a software upgrade and I am going to talk to them this week, but I wanted to see if there was anyone out there that may have used any software for the 545i and have an opinion about it. I may have to break down and drive a bit out of my way, or regretfully ship out my ECU, but that's what I'm trying to avoid.

Honestly, I moved here from OC a while back so I wouldn't mind a nice drive to Socal to see some of my old friends. Do you have any references in Socal that do this? Again, thanks in advance!

Check out RPi. They are located in Paramount, CA.

Here is 1 satisfied customer's feedback regarding the tune, though he has an E60 M5. They do have tunes for the other E60 models I believe.

Also, ESS is located in Chandler, AZ and would be closer to you than driving back to socal.

ESS 545i tune is $649 per their website.

Hope this helps.

I'm happy with my Singh Autosport ECU Tune on my 545i. I know, he has been bad mouthed here by someone who didn't get his discounted price.
Contact John@EUROREV for info.

Ah, the magic of 5series.net.

Another tuner who does 545 ECU reflashes is PES Tuning in Southampton, PA (267-597-3838). Member Brit In NJ had an ECU reflash on his 545 from PES and seems happy with it.

Good luck with juicing up your 545.
