I'm also hoping to start trying to install my catless headers next weekend, hopefully that goes well.

Very true, because it's a lot of work and has to be done EXACTLY right there's a lot of labor involved.

i really wanna to try to put the s52 bottom end in my car i looked it up and for 4,500 i could get the parts and have a machine shop bore out the block to handle the bigger pistons

How much for a used S52 engine? might be easier.

BTW, I think you mean the S54 engine that came in the E46 M3, right? 333hp stock. (the S52 came in older cars)

I would think that by the time you get everything you needed for a s54 swap that you would be better off trading for a used M5. This is the problem with mods for our car, its not that there isn't anything out there its just that some cost so much that by the time your done you would have just been better off to trade for a used M5. there is a company out there that has a straight bolt on supercharger for our car with no mods needed for about $4,000-$5,000 if I remember right, its a stage 1 with no intercooler needed, I just can't remember which brand it is now.

ESS has a stage 1 kit for $5300, is that the one you're thinking of? Their stage 2 kit is $6500 with an intercooler - neither are worth it IMHO. Mainly because an M5 still blows your doors off. If I am going to spend $7-12k to get to 300hp, why not just take that cash and use it for a down on an M5 and instantly get 500hp?

Thats the same thought that I have, which is why I'm left with trying really hard just to be happy with what I got. However it seems everytime spring time rolls around the mod bug seems to creep up and bite again.
