Where are you?
What engine has your car got?
It's pretty difficult for others to help without some fairly essential information

I'm more curious how the rain entered the engine? I thought with today's engines, everything is so well sealed that you can essentially spray it with a hose and things will still be okay.
Or did you maybe mean that there was heavy rain which caused flooding and your car was submerged?

Yes, but would you buy a 545 engine from the US? (What I mean is from Thailand and with a 525 to start with. There's more than just the engine that changes)

I was answering the originator's thread. Did I say i was bringing it to Thailand for my 525? I dono what car or where the originator is, and instead of questioning him, I just gave what I know about where there's a spare engine.
It would be really easy to provide at least 20 places in the UK where to buy a reconditioned engine, but I suspect the OP is not in the UK, as generally UK-based posters would quote prices in ?, not $! I also suspect the OP would find the information irrelevant, because of transport costs, times and issues with regulations (not least because BMW's engines have the nasty habit of having many many niggling little bits that are different for each country). This time I was trying to be more polite and less direct to you...

If your engine "sniffs" water that stands on the street because of heavy rain you drive thru, engine is down for real. We have that problem every year in germany, people think, the water is not too deep I can drive thru, water enters the engine and then - end. R.I.P.
Situation like these f.e.: http://www.thomae-partner.de/public/906455...rasse_500px.jpg
In germany it?s called "Wasserschlag". (Water hammer) ?
I?m very sorry for you if that?s what happend!
