I got the similar pen from bavauto and touch up kit that has pre paint prep and a way to smooth out touch up bubble, we will see on that. I did black grills c/f silver emblems, black insignia and wheel emblems c/f, felt literally sick from it happening but eventually road chips will happen, sucks that i caused it,,,keep ya posted on kit, thanks for the thoughts,,be safe

Try Dr. colorchip (google it). I think that it is drcolorchip.com.
You will find a perfect result. It does not work on really small scratches, but a larger chip will completely disappear.
They will send you the kit exactly matched to your color.

I had a monaco blue 530i, and the match was great. I just got my new carbon black 550. I may order a new kit in advance (the stuff was great).
Try it and report back.

That sucks man, sorry to hear that. I hope you can get it fixed with the advice the members are giving you. Let us know how it works out.

For future reference, it is always a good idea to wrap the tip of the screwdriver in cloth before digging under the emblem with it. I have done this on several occasions and have never damaged the paint. G/L

It works very well.
I will not work on really small scratches because it does not fill them well, but anything larger can be repaired easily. I was very amazed. You cannot even tell that you had a scratch.

You are effectively filling the chip with the colored filler (matched to your car color). When you rub over the area, you are removing any excess filler, and you are creating a completely level surface.
The finished job looks like the original paint with no indication that you had a chip.

I was pretty happy.

That Fonz reference is pretty funny. Gotta love late night TV.

Sorry about the chip. Shouldn't be that big of problem with touch-up paint.

BTW: What the hell is a "ice cream jimmy?" How big is that?
