Someone was right about long term reliability. All we care is 4yr/50K miles
Wow, what can I say. Hoping that I won't have any problems and leaving issues for the next owner isn't the way I maintain my cars.

Here's what Vishnu Tuning says about warranty and safety (http://www.vishnutuning.com/BMW_FAQ.htm)

WARRANTY/SAFETY

Q: What kind of warranty comes with the PROcede?
A: Vishnu Performance warrants its products to be free from defects due to materials and/or workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.

Q: If the dealership doesn't detect the PROcede, will the ECU somehow detect it?
A: No. The PROcede is completely invisible to the ECU. The only way for the dealership to detect that the PROcede is installed on a vehicle is to physically look for the unit.

Q: What kind of wear and tear am I to expect with the PROcede?
A: Under normal driving conditions and by following the regular scheduled maintenance, PROcede users can expect to maintain the same overall reliability to a stock car. Our components have even been race tested in grueling endurance races with no ill effect.

Q: How long will Vishnu provide support for the product?
A: We still support products from 1999 (the first year of our company). So this should not be a concern.

Q: Will constant installing and uninstalling of the PROcede cause problems, etc?
A: No, as long as it is safely and completely removed. Take your time when installing and uninstalling the PROcede!
The product is warranted for 12 month. You can "expect" overall reliability to be the same as stock, but no guarantees.

procede has a piggy back system i believe. there are also other tuning programs out there too that is plug and play but wont give you full amount of hp as the procede program. refer to e90post for details.

wait, isn't it like only $1,200?
Yeah but to me that's a lot of $$ to upgrade a car that is more than fast enough for me. Just my opinion.

based on desired power gains and experiences, after seeing 335s with this mod for a while now, why not go for it?

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.

I read somewhere that the stock turbo motor builds pressure quickly but bleeds it off as the RPMs rise which limits HP and torque. Thats why the torgue curve is completely flat from 1400 RPM through 5000 RPM. If the performance software just changes to maintain the lower end boost through the rev range you could see a 20% increase in power output without additional maximum boost pressures.

LOL.

Every time I drive my 535 now that's all I do. I've had the PROcede for several weeks now and short to say, it was well worth the money. It was the key decision why I did not go for the 550 after my 545 lease ended. Other than the extra plastic and badging why pay extra.

If you have the spare change and want the extra zoom, go for it. I can't stop laughing as to how much fun the car is now.

We have all had that at one time or another, 10 days on Cipro clears it right up.

Care to elaborate? You install it? Noticeable at the bottom end more than the top end?

If you read through e90post, the owner of Vishnu will state that if you're really worried about warranty, then you probably shouldn't mod the car.
