Thumbs up

I'm seriosuly considering a trip to wetterauer since i'll make a trip to germany in a month or so. The offer an impressive hp/torque gain especially for the sportversion. 350bhp and 660 NM or torque. What more could you want? Now the tricky it comes into play. I already asked them but no response yet. I see also they offer a 3 year programe of warranty on engine/gearbox. Now if smth goes wrong with my car, smth brakes who will repair my car? I mean i would have to transport the broken car to Germany for them to repair it or it can be repaired at any bmw dealership, even those here and they will simply pay for the repair?
Thanx.

Hi, good decision!!! do not worry NOTHING will go wrong, if you do not exegorrate the limits of the 3L engine. It is only a remap, a small amount of boost, and be sure that there will be no black smoke, I mean 0!!! If you see some, go for smaller Nm and a bit lower bhp. But should be no probs .

About the warranty, when we chip ours, the BMW is bye-bye for engine and all the stuff related to that, do not wanna list that...

SO companies really provide good service and take over of the warranty. If the problem is 100% caused by the remap, BMW will do nothing, then you have to call WR and they will deal with that. I am not sure if they will go to RO to check and repair, but normally these "chippers' have good contracts with BMW dealerships.
ASK that from them and only after decide. I am not going anywhere in Germany but will do in April-June here in BE by the best. good luck

i would recommend kelleners. They are well-known to me, and are also on the south of germany so easier for you to get there.

DO NOT GO for 350bhp/660nm , it stresses the turbo too much

kelleners offers 335bhp /660nm

http://kelleners-sport.de/english/5e...e60_tuning.htm

As for repairs, it has to be done in germany under their supervision

Also wanted to ask how much stress there is on the engine after an ecu remap, if you drive it normaly or should i say it...well pacefully and only from time to time give it the bees. But not too often. Is there stress on parts especially turbos if you drive moderatly? Let's say without sudden accelerations and under 2500rpm.

parts are stressed especially under full turbo boost... so if you drive it nicely then not really . Although do note that the turbo at any revs will have a slightly higher boost than normal

700 is right, and if you drive it the same way the consumption will be slightly lower, when you floor it, it will be faster and of course eat a bit more, but for the growth of the tourque who cares for consumption. If I care for that I buy hibrid Toyota, but will NEVER do

ps. I am happy for you both guys, that you can help eachothers with infos and nice talk, stay that way

No problems then...i'll go for this remap. 350bhp sounds almost incredible...from a diesel.Ahahaha 50 more bhp and it would have reached the e39 figures, but suprassing it by 150% more torque. After this ecu remap i really wouldn't want more...except maybe the new e90 m3 but we'll see how things evolve till then.
