I just go my ECU reflashed by Gintani on Friday. (2004 545i)

I did a stock dyno run before the ECU reflash and I got 269.82 whp and 274.66 ft lbs.

I wanted to dyno it again after the reflash, but the place where I got it dynoed didn't have time. So I'm going back AGAIN to Gintani and going to use their dyno (theirs wasn't up when I went). This time we are going to erase it do another stock run, reflash it, dyno it again, then install the AFE custom intake, then re dyno one last time.

FYI: I ran against my cousin again and I lost by 1.25 car length. It seemed to get slower, but I will contact Gintani and see what is going on. I will not truly know until I re run it with their dyno this coming friday.

The run#6 is way off because the car shifted in to 3rd.

All the other runs were done in 4th gear...I have an automatic and it was a nightmare trying to let it stay in 4th.

Let me know what you guys think of the base run. I'm not happy YET with the "16 whp gain" that they said I was supposed to get.

It takes a few hundred miles for the ECU to adapt to the new remap.

yup. when i had mine done, all they said to me after was "don't drive it like a girl or the ECU will remain thinking that it's a girl"

Wont the "Hold down for 25secs" trick be abssolutely brilliant for these situations.

What's a few hundred? 300-399? And I don't drive like a girl either so I'm expecting the ECU to adapt accordingly. I push the car every time I get into it...it does hurt my pockets though for gas.

Looking forward to see how this turns out.

Though, about 20% drivetrain loss, on your OEM dyno seems a little excessive!?
Some 12%, max 15% loss, would be appropriate on a 545i with auto transmission.

Do you have all the expected OEM horses in the stable?

Skimming through old issues of Auto Motor & Sport.

When tested, a loss of about 13% was measured. The comment was "On the limit of acceptable for a rwd with lock up"

The question is then. Did your tranny lock up during dyno?
