cany anyone give me a good defination for it wats the purpose any hp gains ?

From my understanding the exact purpose of it is HP gains and often times, throttle remapping. Some ECU tunes (not sure if this applies to BMW) claim better milage as well - not to mention the ever popular top speed de-limiter.

oh okay thx do you like does it have any disadvantages maybe like idno engine goin bad after few years?

An ECU tune give gains on HP and TQ. Your throttle response is quicker and you can go as fast as your car can handle.

A tune usually gains about 20-25 hp and tq for the 5 series.

Do not go with a plug and play tune. Very unstable.

As for your motor/transmission, you'll be fine. I couldn't say the same if you put a turbo on your car!

..what ecu tune..can give u 20-25 hp to a n52 engine(2006 530i)? if there is one...can work in conjuction with the bms box?

thx for the info where can i get this done any customizing autoshop or what

so any plug and play tune is unstable could you tell me why
