While other people have had good experiences with replicas, I would avoid them as much as I want to avoid headaches.

This may apply only to replicas. My 3-Piece OZ Raffaello's use hub-centric rings and I have ZERO vibration of issues. Most all 5 series wheels from all recent body types fit one another. The only main difference is the xi models (offset) and the E39 body (hub size). To save costs wheel companies make one wheel to fit all the recent 5 series cars (except xi) and use hub-centric rings to achieve this. Hub-centric rings are not an evil. They just center the wheel on the hub as you tighten the wheel bolts. If the wheel build quality is bad, hub-centric rings or not the wheels will vibrate.

I have been in the wheel business for quiet some time and believe it or not majority of the aftermarket wheels come from CHINA.

People are also always so quick to blame the wheels but never the tires or things... alot of things can cause vibrations or shimmy... suspension issues,no use of hubrings,flat spots on the tires,defective tires or a simple thing like a correct balance.

I have had many people come to me with vibration/shimmy issues and majority of the times they said they balanced their wheels hundred times but once i put it on a GSP 9700 Roadforce balancing machine everything is fine.

I beg to differ. Although more wheels come from China then ever before, the trusted names in wheels are still manufactured in the USA, Germany, Italy, and Japan. In the past 10 years everyone and their mom has jumped onto the "tuner" scene. With the explosion of the import cars (Honda in particular) it seemed like a "tuner" was born every minute. These "tuner" wheels are the ones you may be referring to "made is China". BBS. Fikse, OZ, HRE, Kinesis, SSR, Forgeline and the rest of the race proven great wheels are not made in China. It used to be you get what you pay for, but today manufacturers are greedy. They are selling China made crap for high dollars and make you think that because you paid allot it is a great product. Stay with the trusted names that have racing heritage and you will be OK. When was the last time you saw a race car have Maya wheels. I started modding my first car 25 years ago so I think I learned a few things over the years.

ronal has always made good quality wheels with ok prices. They tend to lack on the design side, but make strong quality wheels. They have done OEM wheels for a number of manufactures, more notably the Audi B5 S4 wheel
