Right chaps this is my dilemma .

I purchased 2 bumpers of ebay front and back costing me 60 quid each plus 50 delivery . The rear bumper is ok but the front bumper which is on this link has 3 pictures showing its condition . I purchased the bumpers and now i have received them the front bumper is damaged alot more than shown in pics . the seller has clearly avoided the worst part (damage) of the bumper .

Question is : Do i have a case against him as he has not shown the full extent of the damage

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

This is the damage where his photo doesn\'t show , it is as if he is avoiding this spot his picture of this side cuts off right at the damage .

His picture of Damage

The real damage below his pic ,.

Cheers lads and lass\'s , dont want to have to return it as it will prollly cost me 40 quid to do so so anyone know where i will stand in this instance ?

Thanks alot

Bryso

Ps , i am a Metal worker /spray painter by trade for 17 years , i know what damage is and was aware it was damaged, but not to this extent .

You should email thru ebay and document your complaint. It's often risky to deal with on-line sellers. How was the seller's feedback? If there is ever a doubt I request additional pictures before bidding / buying.

Complete disclosure or misrepresentation of item for sale is a violation of ebay policy.

However, some items may be damaged in transit (not saying that was the case here) or damaged after receipt. SO, timely notification and documentation is very important. For example, if i receive a package in mail that appears damaged - BEFORE I open it I take a picture of the box or envelope! That way if the items inside are harmed I have some proof that the shipping or packaging may have been inadequate. In one recent incident, even though the item bought wasn't harmed in shipment I let the seller know that he/she could have packaged it to better protect the contents.

In your case you don't want to go to the extra expense of shipping back, maybe your position should be refund of some portion of the price to offset the additional time and $$ to correct the unseen damage. Good luck getting some adjustment on your recent purchase.

it is my understanding that if you buy somthing described as damaged, no matter how damaged it is, the seller has not missrepresented the item, as damaged means damaged.......

sorry

I would say that both those pictures are equally bad... therefore I highly doubt you have a case as there is no misrepresentation from the seller. If he clearly states damaged, it's up to the buyer to determined how bad it is before placing a purchase/bid. Sorry, but this is the true story of Ebay transactions.

If you didn't ask for any more pics or ask if the damage was only what was shown, it doesn't do you much favours, but... email the seller and state that the extent of the damage was not shown in the picture and ask if he's willing to refund some money or you will be sending it back.

The worst he/she can say is no but least you gave it a shot, I'm sure you can repair it, after all you knew it would need some work when you bought it, just turns out to be a bit more then you anticipated , Im ure it will look very nice once you have it all painted and on the car.

Good luck mate
