If your car came with stock xenon/adaptive headlights, it is a simple bulb swap. If your car is halogen stock, then you need ballasts/resistors/bulbs etc.

first of all, no should should buy those cheap ballasts. I had a customer that used cheap ballasts melted his wiring and his friend who used cheap ones melted his front bumper. U all realize that HID ballasts ignite at 23000 volts right?

Secondly, u need to use D1S bulbs. And not all D1S are made alike. I have tried a few ebay ones for trial and error and they work for a few weeks and go bad. They are not stable.

From past experience, I agree with these statements. In fact, most stuff bought from Ebay for your car will be of inferior quality (with small exceptions). I had a bad experience with bad xenon ballasts in my 04 maxima that melted the factory harness/wires that I got off Ebay. Never again will I buy aftermarket lighting that doesn't have a proven track record (such as accounts on this forum, people showing installed pictures, not coming back and complaining of damage etc).

With that said, I bought Brabusw209amg's products, and I have no complaints whatsoever, The quality is evident, and I would recommend spending a little extra and buying proven quality goods from him.

Just my 2 cents, though.

Oh and to give you an idea of the headache the melted harnesses caused, I had no headlights for a week and couldn't drive the car at night.
Also, the cost to have the harnesses/wires replaced at the dealer was $510.00 with labor. This was on a Nissan. For BMW, I imagine it would have been $1,000+
