My Ride: 535D Tourer - Pre LCI

Hi, sorry, another thread from me....im on a steep learning curve
I'm wanting to be able to play MP3's on my Pro Nav - not via ipod but by normal media, be it memory stick, hard drive or what ever... I'd also like to control this via the iDrive with track names coming up and the ability for playlists.
My first thought was the Denison 500, I have a history with Denison units on my Audi's - just feel its a bit overkill for what I need.
Anyone any suggestions, or is the Denison my only option?
Tim

Has anyone used this http://www.connects2.co.uk/c2search....=204&modID=751
Only £75... I have checked the Denison site and found that i can only use the 500 - which is Bluetooth enabled...although i dont need BT as i already have it :/
Surely there is a BMW solution to just hooking up a USB to the nav

You can't really do playlists on CD/USB media like you can with an Ipod.
For an MP3 CD/DVD:
You can create folders and name them whatever you want to ID them as a playlist. Then just place the mp3 files in that folder. Whatever the name of the mp3 file is, that is what you see on the iDrive screen.
If you want the same song to appear on multiple "playlists" then you will have to copy that song into multiple folders on the CD.

Whatever the name of the mp3 file (xxxxxx.mp3) is will show up on iDrive as song name. Metadata such as Artist, Album, etc will not be displayed.

Ah, i wasnt sure if you were referring to the CD with MP3's only....
Cool.... so how would i go about a simple USB install?
I had everything on my ipod, but due to the RNS-E nav I had in my Audi, i converted everything from MP4 to MP3 and manually loaded files with playlists onto an SD card...and now the ipod fuctionality is too much hassle to attain, hence why i only want USB

Well after researching this intensely - I have decided to fit a Denison 500 - just seems the best/easiest/most upgradeable solution, despite already having bluetooth. Might even be worth adding the BT module for £60 and selling my OEM module!! I'll have to check the functionality
