Just crawled up from the garage floor, installing M6 sway bars on my 545i. (For reference. M6 28mm/18mm. M5 26.5mm/18mm)
This paired with Eibach/Koni literary turned the car into "Automan mode" (For those who remember the old tv show)
Still, I didn?t loose out too much of the neat OEM comfort!

Regard to handling this mod was more present and obvious than changing to Eibach/Koni.
Now the car handle very nimble and sharp.

One thing that was quiet interesting, and most probably had a big part in making the vast difference.
Looking at the bushings on the front sway bar, the 545i OEM style is two big moshy rubber blocks.
The M6 bushings is Powerflex hard and much smaller (Remember that you will need the console as well, if thinking about replace your stock piece)
At the rear the bushings was rather similar in hardness.

(You?ll find pictures in the link under my personal profile)

Well thats all, just wanted to let you know.

Nice mod mate. Myself, got the M5 sway bars installed, never thought about the M6 ones being even tighter - good thinking.

NPe, can we have some lines on your new suspensions?
And their price.

I just did a quick search, some say that we cannot change the sway bars on the sport models. They say the sport models have a motor at each end, it adjusts to every turn to eliminate body-roll. However when I searched on tirerack, they have sway bars listed for sport models....so now I'm just confused....

Ah, ok, this is obvious: I misread the reply and I wrote +1, but I was asking NPe if we with active bars can change suspensions as well.

I know as the DDC/ASR works, there are 2 motors with 800 Nm torque. And we don't need bigger bars because ours are bigger than M5 ones.

This I didnt know. Do you think strut bars make a noticeable difference?

For those who like to go for the fatest sways BMW got of the shelf, M6 convertible is 29mm in front (Or/And Performance package M6 Coup?)

As mentioned, this is not for you lux cruizers with adaptive drive. You will manage anyway

The suspension Q; I do not know if it will work with adaptive drive. Still, the Parts for suspension was picked up at Demon tweeks in UK. Quick and smooth delivery.
Sway bars from the salvage yard, from a 5000miles car! (As new) Price 200$ incl bushings, consoles, swaybar and ball joints in front. E63 Ball joints in front will not work without modification to lenght. But You can use the standard 545 ones if you?re not the "cut and weld" personality.
I guess it would be a little pricier at the dealer

Old thread but very helpful. The part # for the M6 22MM Rear Sway is the same as the part # for the euro e61 LCI M5 Wagon. I am planning on installing mine this coming Thanksgiving (first warm day). I have an 2008 e61 LCI 535xi Wagon.

***UPDATE****

Installed the M6 Rear Sway on my 2008 e61 LCI 535xi Wagon and its awesome. Good result!
