E61 H&R SPRING HELP!!!!-img_0252.jpgNEED HELP ASAP!!! My car is on the lift as I'm typing this.

Received H&R Springs (part# 29146-2) to lower FRONT end of 2008 535xi wagon. Only came w/ two springs as it's self leveling rear; all good, well aware of that. When the installer went to put them on he noticed they were significantly larger in diameter than the stock springs, meaning that they are about a half inch larger than the strut tower.

I called H&R and confirmed I had the correct application 3 times. Finally I called the tech department and described what was happening. Mind you I dropped the car off this am and it's now 4:45pm as I've been trying to confirm and reconfirm I have the correct part. They tell me to snap some photos and email them. So I do w/ my i-phone and I call back at 5:03 pm and they are closed!!!

Now my car is on the lift and I may have to pay for getting the car back to stock! Any experience with this or ideas is greatly appreciated I'm so bummed and I'll be damned if I have to pay to have the car put back to stock after H&R said I have everything for this vehicle.

The attached pictures show the 2 springs side by side. The H&R is on the left. The other photos show the difference between the stock spring on the strut tower and the H&R spring overlapping the tower.

THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE!!!!

dude sorry to hear the troubles, hopefully someone can help you out, I know I have the H&R springs on my e60 and you just put them on using all the stock pieces straight replacement.

I hope you get the help you need soon. I am interested on knowing the solution as I am also thinking of putting H&R springs to lower my fronts when I get bigger wheels. BTW, what rims did you put on your car if you don't mind me asking? ET offset would be cool to know.

I did Velocity Motoring VB3's, I think they were 20mm offset but you can double check with European Auto Source in Santa Ana CA and they'll let you know the appropriate offset.

Front end is too 4x4. I just got off the phone with H&R and they put a call into Germany to check things out. The girl on the phone she doesn't know what to tell me. If I have to pay to put the car back stock after they claimed they make an application for it, this could get ugly!

FYI- 18x 8.5's all around. Didn't want to get any lower profile of a tire as I do a lot of driving.

Car looks sweet but the front definitely needs some lowering. Hopefully H&R will make things "right" for you. So you are SoCal too, when you are done with your mods, maybe I can come see first hand and steal some ideas

Car will be done as soon as I drop it a little, (if I can!) Other than doing something with the wheel roundels, this car will be pretty much done.

It has a black kidney grills and a Dinan reflash. I may continue with some downpipes and and ecu remap but we'll see...

Feel free to "steal" whatever ideas you like.

Does anybody know part numbers for the sport springs used in the Touring BMW's over in Europe? They offer a sport package that lowers the car 15mm and that could be just the right deal for my problem.

Thanks!
