E61 550i feb-2006 AUX challenge
Hello L & G's
Lets first of all introduce myself. Just bought a feb-2006 550i touring with 150K and manual gearbox on it. Appears to be in neat condition. No leakages...yet... and the paperwork suggests it has been maintained well. Used to drive the E34 M5 Touring back in 2010 which I should have kept as the prices for these beaties have since rised significantly.......
As many other E60 oweners tried to enable the AUX port on the CCC. Bought the PEMP activator, followed procedures and got he AUX option in the I-drive display.
Did the wiring tghe same way as many others on this forum already done, see pics and tried to play music from my Oneplus 6 with the jack connector....but it didn't work unfortunatly.
A couple of seconds after I put the jack into the phone the I-drive display stops working and goes black. The phone itself plays the song as it also doesn't see its connected to the car-radio.
Quite strange so I'm hoping to find some guidance on this forum.
Attached a few pics of the car and the I-drive aux option visible....

Morining Gents,...ok...so quite some views already but no reply...Maybe a bit too soon to reply or maybe a not so common problem...In any case...I ordered the ODB2 cable and already have all the INPA and MCS expert software installed with the correct profiles so after the cable comes on I will have a go with it to (again) enable the AUX port....

Need to apologies here. made a stupid mistake. When I openened up the dash, removed the CCC and then the main square connector ...I immedaialy thought it was the free connector space to which I needed to connect my AUX cable because the otherone was occupied already including pins 7 and 8 which are needed for the AUX connector......WRONG apparently....Looked aliitle bit closer and found out I needed the orher socket. Tested it ((see pic) et voila it worked.........but......Terrible sound. I'm using my Oneplus 6 and I've got a Q0buz high res audio subscription so the soruce is quite good actually. Althought the mids and highs work fairly well...there is NO bass whatsoever. Like you listen to a squaky and old transistor radio from the '80s.............so all in all a nice exercise removing the dash and all but i have to find another solution. Probalby an MMI or something like it...
