E60LCI Reverse & Front Camera Parts
Dear All,
I need help; I want to install the Rearview and Front Camera as a retrofit on my 525i E60LCI MY08; I have searched everywhere and now I am clear that there is no such thing as side-cameras as opposed to the diagram it shows everywhere e.g realoem or etk.
Anyway, I am looking for the following parts and if anyone can help, please do let me know:
65500441374 ACM Unit, Level 2
61120402519 Wiring harness for on-board monitor
I have found ACM Unit level 2 somewhere but the person was asking like 800USD for it so I have dropped it; plus, I am unable to find the cable set (61120402519) and if I do find it, I might as well buy the ACM Unit Level 2 for the said price.
Also, is it possible to have the cable made manufactured incase I am unable to find it?
Any leads would be highly appreciated.
PS: Can anyone shed some light as to where, when and why is ACM Unit 1 used?

if all you want is the cameras then buy an aftermarket video input device. These days they are much better than the ACM. You will get both the PDC and the rear image on them unlike with the ACM where you lose the PDC diagram.

bruce, any recommendations as to which aftermarket vendor should I contact for the complete retro kit? Also, is it capable of being fully integrated into the iDrive and does it give all options like the ACM Unit level 2?
And since you are recommending aftermarket kit, I am assuming it won't have any impact on the vehicle in any adverse manner?

there are quite a lot of these now. Just look for one that gives you the PiP and idrive integration.

My Ride: 04 545i sport, stick, L7, sat, nav. Charcoal/ runflat/ cdv delete.
Suede headliner/ trunk, 3 way front speakers, four 8" subs in rear shelf, ACM, iPod dock in ash tray using gateway 500 with MP3 text and video on screen, MRTM aluminum pedals/ door pins, 10 farad cap, sound processor, line conditioner, 2 amps ( 4x100 and 2x200)
roundvision kit for sale
There are "side" cameras in the roundvision ACM kit. The factory front camera, which I have in my E60, is actually a single unit with two side cameras. It helps you look around corners and helps with safety but if you just want to see the height of the parking lot block before you hit it with your bumper you could just get an aftermarket front camera with a non reverse image. I just started returning my 04 545i back to stock and will have a factory (front) side camera for sale, along with the ACM kit and backup camera. Send a PM if interested, I will be posting it in the classified section later after it is removed.
