LOL.

Even though this is an old thread I'll still reply since I fall into this category.

Personally, I don't consider it a mod, although I have to go against the grain and say that I like how it looks on my car. I actually use mine tho and go biking everywhere with my GF since the weather in NorCal is starting to look great. I don't think I'll ever take my baby up to the snow so I probably wont get the snowboard attachments. Plus I've been on a bit of a sticker frenzy and I think it's a fun way of decorating it for the meantime. Come winter I'll take it off.

I agree with DevilDawg, I have an OEM roof rack and really like it, but more importantly I use it for biking as well, especially since the weather is getting much better. I just put mine back on this weekend, and since doing so, I've had multiple people tell me every day they love the look.

I just picked up an OEM rack too. Thinking about getting the same bike attachments as JR. But now I'm not sure. I'll have to spend at least $300-400 for bike attachments and fairing. Then ski racks when I'm boarding in the winter. Which will be around $100-200. Haven't checked the pricing on ski attachments yet. But all in all, I'll be spending $600 on this. Funny thing is, my cousin has everything on his FJ Cruiser and I don't need any of this stuff. I would only put it on when I use it. So for $600 to use once or twice a year or have my cousin transport everything for free. I kinda like the look. Don't see too many red M5 with a bike rack.

So for now the roof rack stays off.
