IMHO, take it off, contradicts with the lines of the car....
+1 in my opinion.

The rooftop accessory rack is easy-on/easy-off. When you need to carry boards, bikes, or skis great!
Otherwise they make noise and add aerodynamic drag ... costing performance and fuel economy.

Dude, chill...

of course i know it's accessory.......roof rack added 20 horsepower
I'm cool man... Can't read my emotions from a post... ok let me put it better...

"IMHO it doesn't really look right on a sedan. I think you should run a clean look, no roof rack.

BTW, a roof rack should be called as an accessory, not a mod... "

Did I come off better now? Didn't mean to offend or anything on the first post.

If you paint houses and barns and have to tote ladders around, leave it on.

At a first glance for me it looks like you're a tourist on holiday and didn't have enough room in the trunk!
(however maybe in CA life is one big holiday!? )

I understand where you are coming from, but IMHO it doesn't work on your ride -- which looks damned good by the way
As others have stated, it would work better on an E61.

I was researching the E60 roof racks and came across this old thread. I must say it's one of the funniest I've read on this forum since I've known of its existence that didn't involve people actually getting upset. Interest in roof racks seems to be fairly cyclical, so probably worth a read (take a look at the pics) for people considering this.

Curious though.. never saw it answered (but was asked) .. is it fairly easy/quick to add these on whenever you need them (so they don't have to stay on). The soccermom's rule sticker mod thing is hilarious btw.

Dude, you just answered your own question. If you use it then keep it, if not then lose it....just make sure you're not using it as a mod and you're actually carrying gear with that thing!
