Don't get me wrong, I love my 545i sport package rims and think they are the best offered for the E60. The large meats in the rear look great from the back.

After being at the Bimmerfest and seeing 20's on E60's, when I went back to my car, it seems like my tires are small. I think part of it is that the tire extends so far to the inside of the car and not much sticks out the side - which is good for the most part.

I really am not interested in giving up additional sidewall by going to 19's or 20's as I do A LOT of highway driving.

I do like the look of rims on the E39 M5's where the tire extends to the edge of the fendor. I also like BMW rims and I am not interested in aftermarket.

Any suggestions of BMW rims that are worth considering?

I have a BMW rim book, but is there an online version of up-to-date info?

See what going to a bimmerfest does? It makes you think your stock car needs improvement. Maybe next time I should stay home.

Sounds like you want spacers ... which is exactly what I ordered 2 weeks ago to go with my planned M-Aero kit upgrade. H&R, 15mm rear, 10 mm front to push the wheels out where they should be to begin with -- almost flush with the wheel well, leaving an extra 10mm or so space.

The below is not my car but it has 12mm rear spacers on. You can see the wheels pushed out a bit. I went for 15mm rear since I think that extra little bit will make the look just the more perfect.

When in doubt, ask the forum. Great advice. Please post the pictures when you get the spacers.

Where did you order them from? Do they cause any adverse problems with wear or alignment? I wouldn't think so but have to at least ask.

No problems that I'm aware of. I searched google for articles and comments about spacers when I was researching the idea and didn't find any negative words about them.

I ordered mine from Livermore Performance in California. The H&R spacers are about $100 per set and you'll also need longer threaded lug nuts which extra.

One more question - did you run into any interference problems with the 545 tires after you added spacers? Do you still get full wheel travel without any rubbing?

Hi Jsal. The BMW 128 rims look great. They're 19" staggered and you'd require 245 tyres for the front and 275 for the rear.

I agree that the 124s do seem to fit the car and look especially good in one's garage or in the parking lot. However, when compared to some nice aftermarket wheels, they just pale in comparison.

If you go with 19s and rid yourself of the runflats, by all accounts, you should have better handling with at least the same level of comfort. So do keep yourself open to that.

If you do get spacers, it should help the look of the car. The rear wheels especially, seem to be swallowed by the car.
