Default E60 LED DRL Kit

Anyone install this? Normally I shy away from cheap electrical gimmicks but I did have a LED DRL kit imported from German that included the LED's plus the plastic replacement housing and vent grille (similar to this one) and the result was amazing. Currently i do have have a DRL setup and I was going to have the dealer program it. However, this looks to be a good alternative.

Has anyone installed this and would like to comment?

Pictured below is the one I had installed on my Mercedes W220. The LED's are blinding and jsut as brigh tas my neighbor's Audi's.

No offense, but that looks so cheap and not BMW worthy.

I would think that most here would prefer the angel eyes to be DRL, which they can be programmed to be, than a LED strip. It's your money tho, spend it how you want.

Precisely why I'd like to see if anyone has had it installed on their BMW. I was skeptical about the Mercedes kit too. Then after Hendrick Mercedes installed it, wow we were surprised. The dealership now stocks the item after I introduced it to them. You never know...

Leave them to the Mercs and Porsches just like white eyebrows are an Audi thing. Just my .02 cents.

Yep. Every time I see an aftermarket angel eye kit on another automaker, I cringe.

I have a Pre-LCI E60 and I believe I cannot use my angel eyes as DRL's. Plus, even if I upgraded by AE bulb it's not as bright as the LCI models.

Is there a way to use my AE's as DRL's?

Yes, ... but it depends on what build year ... you can easily adjust it via coding on late model pre-LCI that already using LCM2.

I did it at the beginning before I did full LCI light conversion ... but as you mentioned since pre-LCI AE wasn't designed to be a DRL so not visible during the day

I agree, this is not BMW like, when you see angel eyes it says "BMW"
