Very interesting and very impressed by your description about the improvement. Do you know whether this remap will cause increased wear and tear on the engine, violate factory warranty, and increase in fuel consumption? Thanks!

My Ride: 535D M Sport
Space Grey, Comfort Seat, full leather, iPod, climate pack, comms pack, heated seats, tinted windows, sports gearbox + paddle shift, 19" wheels
I had my 535D remapped at 6k miles and it's going like train.
My only 'slight' concern is the change between 4th and 5th using SAT and in manual mode (i.e. paddles) sometimes gives a real jerk between gears. It did this before the remap but now I guess because of the extra power it's more noticeable.
Got to say, the remap makes this a stunning car............but we all knew that anyway

Here's a remap curve for reference (had mine remapped 1 month ago)
I noticed the region A & B
A. Improved TQ , said , at low 1200 rpm in stop & go traffic
B. Car is still pulling hard at over 160 mph, noticeable TQ there to do so.

Wear & tear increase, probably.
Violate factory warrant, probably.
Increase fuel consumption - yes if driven hard all the time, but it reduces it if you drive it the same as you used to.
But - it transforms the car - and all of the three points above are irrelevant !

Wear & tear increase, probably.
Violate factory warrant, probably.
Increase fuel consumption - yes if driven hard all the time, but it reduces it if you drive it the same as you used to.
But - it transforms the car - and all of the three points above are irrelevant !

Thanks for your honest and frank opinion. With those bhp and torque, I am sure it must be real fun to drive .

Purchase price of very well discounted 535d fully specced up with DMS remap : ?45k
Purchase price of M5 fully specced up : around ?72k
535d DMS Max torque : 695Nm
M5 Max torque : 520Nm
... and I didn't want a used / non LCI M5 either.
I'm not saying the 535d is a better car than an M5, I'm sure it's not, but for my purpose, the 535d was the right choice. Oh - and diesel "chatter"? On the 535d? Have you not heard that thing ROAR??
Every person I've shown it to says "it's a DIESEL???" Sure, it's no V10 symphony, but I think it sounds great!
