Default E60 front seats upgrade

Hi,

I used great opportunity to buy pair of front semi-electric sport seats from 2008 model (LCI). My car is 2006 (pre-LCI) with semi-electric standard seats with heating. Does anybody know how to do this swap the most easiest way? Can I expect some difficulties?
Next question - how to check (in case seller does not know) if these specific seats has heating or not (e.g. occupied pin "xy" in electrical connector). Alternatively can I swap it too from my standard seats to these sport ones? As far as I understand seat cover is not glued, right?

Thanks for any handy info

Sorry, I can't be help with swapping the seats.
Shouldn't you be asking these questions BEFORE buying the seats? :-)

Ofcourse I asked before I bought them - I know it's possible. Just would like to have as much as possible knowledge, before I start with that.

Seat covers are not glued.

The wire diagram will show you how to tell if you have electrical connections for seat heaters. You need the diagram anyway for reasons other than the seat heaters so you will be able to figure that one out.

Yes you can expect difficulties

You need to be prepared to adapt harnesses and make wire connections, you may need extra power/higher amp circuits for the heaters?? The seat heater switches go in the dash, and the programming will need to be done.

Thanks NoQuarter for reply, I have heating function currently in my car, so there will be no need to place new wires which goes to dash buttons.

From what you wrote, I guess you have no idea where to get that diagram, right?

Does anyone has idea pls?

Thx

You can find diagrams and wiring colors here:

Hopefully it will be helpful.

Thanks 530inOK - I will pass it to someone, who knows what to do with that (I'm not electrician).

If someone would still have any advice - feel free to paste it here

Hi Sonny

In this case where you go from semi-electrical std. seats to semi-electrical sportsseat's there should be no problem regarding coding of the car afterwards ! , only if the sportseat's have functions that your std. seat's do not have ( lumbersupport , etc. ).

Regarding the seatheating , you can not "swap" the cover from the std. seat's to the sport seat's , it's simply not the same form , also the heating unit ( blanket ) can not be moved "over" due to it is integrated into the cover , you will here have to eidter get OEM new cover w. heating for your sportseat's , or alternativ loose heating units and mount them together with wirring to the sportseat's you did buy ( it's big job for an amatur , just as warning ) .

But try and mount them , connect them , and with a littel "luck" thy have the heating , and all is as wanted

Regards
