hi everyone, i'm new to the forum, i have a fewquestions maybe someone can help me with.

first, i would like to know if any knows if the oem stock e60 m5 wheels will fit the regular e60?

second, i would like to know if aftermarket wheels that fit perfectly on the e60 m5 would fit on the regular e60?

would any modifications be needed on either question?

next, what is the difference from oem m5 springs as opposed to the e60 springs?
height/spring rate?
would they fit on an e60?

thanks in advance.

i can only answer question 1, yes... as long as you have the i and not the xi. thats also the answer to your second question.

The OEM M5 rims will fit the other non-xi E60's but not with the OEM tire size of the M5, which are wider than the staggered setup on the other 5's. If you go with the OEM M166 rims (and PLEASE DON'T buy replica M5 rims) that have offsets of ET12 F and ET28 Rear, you would need 245/35/19's on the Front and 275/30/19's on the Rear. The actual rim widths of the M5 wheels and 535i or 550i staggered rims are exactly the same...8.5" F, 9.5" R.

The M5 tires are 255/40/19's F and 285/35/19's R, and the rears will rub unless you modify (roll the fenders). You will also notice that the M5 tires are also higher profile compared to the non-M5 tires. That's just an M5 thing for tracking purposes. The front fenders are also wider on the M5 compared to the non-M5 E60's, hence it can use a wider tire up front. The rear fender of the M5 is actually rolled at the factory, and is the same size as the other E60's.

As for your 2nd question, it depends on size, offsets, widths of the aftermarket rims and tires that were on the M5. I suspect that if they were on an M5, they will have the larger tires...and they may even be bigger than OEM widths for the M5, like 305's or 315's, which definitely won't fit the non-M5 E60 RWD cars.

Mods for question 1 and 2? I think I answered already...depends on what I just explained prior, if you go aftermarket. And if you choose OEM M5 rims with slightly narrower tires, as above, you don't need to mod anything. If you want the OEM M5 tire sizes as well, then you have roll the rear fenders. I think the fronts would fit ok with no mods up there.

As for spring rates, I am not sure you are going to get a concrete number or answer on that one except to say the M5 suspension (struts and springs) is QUITE an upgrade to the E60 sport suspension you might find on a 550i or 535i. Everything about the M5 is an upgrade, for the most part, especially when you are talking the performance aspects of the car, and springs qualify. Would M5 springs fit on a non-M5 E60? I doubt it, but I am not 100% sure.

Ride height can be checked on car & driver or Motor Trend's websites or wherever you can find specs on these cars. The M5 actually sits higher than the 528, 535 or 550i RWD setups. However, the xi is probably similar or higher. Because the M5 has beefier tires in both directions, horizontally and vertically, they raise the car up a bit more....plus the front-end of the M5 sits higher compared to a 550i Sport, etc. Why? Who knows!?!

That's about all the energy I have left for these questions. You didn't exactly give us a lot of information to work with. Try the search button on the top right for more info. It works wonders!

Oh yeah, Welcome to the best forum around!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I have many more questions to come so I want to thank everyone in advance especially DRLEV99.

Thanks for the warm greetings.

1 more question for now if someone can answer me. I'm looking to upgrade my rear bumper to the oem m5 bumper, will the 545i stock muffler fit as it is with the bumper until I get quad exhaust?

the follow up question to this would be what do you recommend for a quad exhaust that is quiet and no drone?

THANK YOU AGAIN IN ADVANCE.
