Altho this is my first posting, but has been reading even before i decided to own my e60 530 d last Jul 2005.

I realise some of diesel owners here remap their engine up to evil engine performance.....how do guys doing it???

Please share esp me kinda new to BMW as well as diesel engine since i have limited knowledge about cars/engine....sounds pretty stupid heh...

Couples of q's:
1. first thing before remap the engine
2. how to remap...BMW itself or o/side workshops
3. what's next...?

Thanks guyz...

So far as I know BMW don't offer a remap, so that's question 2 answered

You're asking what's before and what's next - if you're that serious about making it go faster, save some money and trade for a 535d as a base and work on that.

Do you have Iceman experience with these guys?

Why they are better than other?

Do you really have to respect each country's diesel quality etc?
Thx for all once more.

I don't have personal experience, but a couple friends.

I know that they are considered one of the best chip tuning companys.

Never heard of any complaints...

I see in their website they're citing two different 535d models: standard and SPORT. For the SPORT version they declare much higher figures (after remap). Do you know why? AFAIK there is one version only of the 535d engine, so I cannot understand the two different versions with different power output. Maybe just a different remap (I know the 535 can go up to 350 hp easily, but a well known tuner told me that it's not safe to reach that level).

Thanks to Clived & Iceman for the advice. Thought can reply but was away for holiday a day after the posting.....

In my country, dont think they'll bring in 535d since our diesel sulphur contains 3000ppm. That's is why i'm thinking to upgrade my 530d to max if possible....

thanks again guys...

Hi,

if you've doubts about your fuel quality (which prevents BMW from bringing the 535d to your country), I would raise the question whether chipping (remap) the car is really a good idea. As far as I know one parameter for chipping is the good fuel quality to rely on....

1. brake down done (about 1500-2000km)
2. Google "diesel tuning" or DMS, Kempower, KW-systems, speedbuster or use "search" in here
3. HUGE fun!!

Edit: WAY too slow.

But about diesel quality:

-sulphur will kill particle filters and katalysators (sulphur act as lubrication)
-water and other inpurities kill first filters and then pumps, nozzles etc (expensive)
-Don't actually make difference stock <-> remapped
