Thanks Bmwpower, that information really helps and confirms that the ZBs are from an E90. I am totally confused now.

Probably I should just swap back my old CIC, update the software on it and then work with getting custom FSCs to work and code it to Combox. I just dont know what to do and where to start now.

 

Why not to try, if your old CIC is fully working, put it in your car and we can start from there.

 

It works, but as I mentioned earlier, FSCs are not activated and so no navigation at the moement. But will definitely swap it out to night and update here

 

Its already at latest firmware? If no lets try to update it first, VIN write and then start with FSC .

 

NCSExpert shows the firmware on my earlier one as C1A and here are the ZBs, forgot to remove the emulator, will do it tomorrow.

 

These zb numbers are correct with us specs. Now i think we should have to write your VIN to all 62,63,A0. Write your FA to CIC. Fsc tool should see both vin same, from your car.

 

Does anyone have steps to generate your own certificates using FSTool (the one where you update the templates with your own VIN, sign and save them before loading into the car)? I dont seem to find that document anymore on my PC. Would like to generate new certificates and start afresh.

Are the steps as follows-
1) Open FSTool V2.0.2
2) Go to configuration tab -> Update Certificates (FSCS, Root, Sig) to the file/folder named '02_CERTS' in SWTPatcher-v2 and FSCS-Private Key to the one in '00_PRIVATEKEYS' folder
3) Go to 'Enabling Codes' tab and then select 'Load from file...' and select any file from '03_FSC_TEMPLATES' folder
4) Click Edit and change VIN to match your car's VIN and then click 'Sign', 'Check data', 'Check Signature' and then 'Save as' and save it with a new name.
5) Do the above step for all the FSC templates in that folder.

Is that it? are those the files you get when you pay ~$100 for any remote coder?

Maybe not so easy. This write is for upload fsc's. Im waching 1h video on youtube ho to do that .

 

If i understand correct, you have to pull fsc's via usb first.

 

From my understanding, you can only get 1B FSC via glove box USB method which is used to generate map activation code.
