Hey I realize this post is old an you probably dont have that car anymore, but i bought one for supercheap because it had a electrical issue they couldnt figure out an coudlnt afford an were tired of trying, so i bought it super cheap. Just needed a paint job an looked almost new. Interior was excellent almost new looking dash amazing so i figured 1 grand was well worth it lol it ran perfect when i put the proper sized battery an registered it but i am a 100% newbie at bmw modifications. Can you tell me how you went about modding yours to an android to your idrive system or happen to still have that spare one? Mines a 2005, would it even fit? its a 530i 2005 model. Let me know if you dont mind you're pictures looked bad ass an id love to have mine modded just like that. You can contact me on here

Do you actually want Android? Or are you looking for Android Auto/Apple CarPlay? If you want the latter there are MMI boxes for CCC and CIC that work really well in my opinion. I use one every day with my CIC for wireless CarPlay. If you actually want Android there are Avin units you can get. I had one previously before my MMI unit but much prefer the MMI. They all integrate fairly nicely with idrive and will need an aux in for sound. The Android units are touch screen and in my opinion the E60 screen is a bit far for reaching as it wasn’t designed for touch. Also, if you go for an Android unit the built-in screen brightness no longer works since it is an aftermarket screen.
