Dinancars.com, the premier BMW tuner, doesn't have any info on an E60 yet. Dinan mods are warranteed by BMW.

You can chip those inexpensively because they can handle more boost than the factory sets them for. The chip simply dials in more Turbo pressure. The compression on a normally aspirated engine is higher and engine management changes will rarely yield the same performance gains as on a Turbo. They may increase max bhp, but you may give it up somewhere else in the curve. IMHO for everyday driving, where you do not sustain RPMs close to the readline, chipping a BMW is not worth it. Search for 'Chip" in the subjects on this thread. Someone did it and was disappointed. DINAN has not come out with anything yet. They are the only ones that you should trust with something like this.

Hmmmmm?!

Is it me? Or do you guys think the reason there aren't many performance parts (intakes, headers etc.) for the 545i is because BMW gave them a heads up or they somehow found out the 545i will have a new V8 for the 2006 or 2007 model year?

I mean the current V8 has been around since the E65 7er and X5, right?

The diesels are a very different story. Plenty of tuners about for the BMW diesel engines.

Hi,

PowerChips offers something for the 545i
(www.powerchipgroup.com)

Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to between 341 hp and 344 hp, and it's torque to between 343 lb.-ft and 349 lb.-ft.
