e60 Black Kidney Grill
#1
Has anyone installed a black grill (or any color for that matter) on to your e60? Does anyone know if the 5er grill will fit a M5?
I am trying to take the oem chrome grill off and am having a bit of troble with the clips. Anyone have any experience with this? I have a M5, but I figure the grill is universal for e60s...
Thanks for your help...

I did this. I bought the black grills from e-bay, and then had them painted jet black to match my car (didnt like the matte black). Had the dealer install for free. It cost me around $100.00. Definetly worth it, it makes the front end look more agressive. Here is a pic. Kidney grills are universal fit for all E60s.

Looks great! Any more shots of the car? I love how the black grill makes blk cars that much more aggressive looking

I got black grills and painted them Ti-Gray to match my car.
Getting the grill clips off without removing the whole bumper is a pain. You will have to break a few clips, most likely. I had to break a couple. But even if you break some clips, the OEM grill will still go back in place and hold secure... so it's not a big deal.

Question: I just received black shadow grills that I purchased off ebay, and one of the clips was broken. For those that have installed new grills themselves, do you think one broken clip will keep these from installing correctly?
I emailed the seller to find out how/if he will replace but no answer yet. I am most anxious to get these grills painted (black to match my car) and installed, so if they will install even with the broken clip I wont bother trying to replace it.
Thanks.

This is not a problem, when the dealer installed mine they also broke one clip, it makes no difference, theres to many clips to begin with (overkill)

Nice look, poleposition.
A have a spare set of black grills since I had the dealer to install chrome grills
before delivery.
They are also for sale.
How do one paint the chrome, first sandpaper and then paint?
In my meaning always go for OEM only!

The grills look great! Thanks for sharing.
Does anyone know if a DIY is floating around on how to remove the grills? I'm having difficulty finding out how to do it and don't want to screw anything up.
