Default E60 545i Coilovers help!

Hey, i have a 2005 545i and my struts are close to being blown, it bounces off bumps and the ride is getting rough. I’m looking to get coilovers.
Im looking for something that will get me a little low, nice ride and something that doesn’t break my bank. I’ve been looking at Megan racing coilovers for the E60.
looking for advice and experience !

I have the godspeed coilovers.. maybe 3 years now? Been very happy with them. I've had Megan racing coilovers on a different car many years ago, and they also seemed to be a very solid build.

I think BCs is what imma go with. I want something better than stock so I’m trying to determine what spring rate i want. If you have any knowledge feel free to chip in !

You can contact BC-Racing directly and ask them for help with pairing their coilovers with SWIFT springs. Do some searches for BC coilover with swift springs as many other cars have gone this route.

I don't know what others experienced with their coilovers, but I went with vogtland coilovers and had to have 10mm spacers up front and 15mm in the back to clear the strut tower. I was told when buying them that I probably didn't need them so i figured I'd chime in with a warning. That added to the expenses quite a bit.. almost $200 or so from vrsf when they still made spacers. I'm running the staggered 18 inch rims and wheels from a 2004 545i on my 2010 535i, so it's not some crazy aftermarket rim and tire combo. Also when I inspected my rear upper control arms, the bushings were bad. Since you have to remove one side to get the strut in, seems like a good time to replace them.. adding more $$ to the total.

Default Solowerks coilovers purchased

So my struts were going out so I decided to go with solowerks coilivers cause a buddy of mine has them . Got them in the mail today. They don’t look so bad. And they were a really good price . I don’t do crazy driving so let’s see how they are.

I’ll let you all know how they are. My control arms up front were bad due to an oil leak so I purchased both for each side. Picked the moog problem solver control arms for the price and I’ve always had good luck with moog . Also purchased the links for the steering. Going in this week. Can’t wait to see how it drives.

Looks good. Do the instructions mention to push the shock down several times before installation to "prime" the shock? When I did this on my setup I found one shock didn't rebound, so one of mine was defective from the factory.

yes actually the instructions said to prime. I did so and they all seem to be fine. Took it for a small test drive today after the install and everything seems good. However it was in the shop for the transmission and it turns out the one I got is defective so u didn’t get very far to test the shocks out.
