Post e60 535i Exhaust Systems Suggestions?

So far I have looked at the RPI and Magnaflow exhaust systems. I want a deep growl at idle and some noise when I hit the throttle. Suggestions? Also not sure if I should get a full exhaust system or not... Help/suggestions wanted.

Thanks!

The Magnaflow seems to be a pretty good exhaust setup. I can get you a pretty good price on their catback.

both RPI and magnaflow are cat-back systems, those have been the 2 setups we've set up 535s with

My Ride: 2004 BMW E60 530i, upgrades: Magnaflow exhaust, Mtec angel eyes and low beam head lights, Just purchased 172 style wheels, looking around for the best tires on Tire Rack now. R1 concepts rotors drilled/slotted. Saving for the M-style kit from Trinity Auto.

I put a Magnaflow 14816 on my 2004 530i

I am leaning towards the RPI full system first, not sure if I will do the down pipes, I will have to see how I like the sound after the full system. Most places I found have the RPI for a little over $1700. Anyone buy an RPI system? From where?

I called RPI directly and they discontinue with the full race exhaust for the 535i.

Yeah, chances are you will have difficulty actually finding someone with an RPI for the 535i in stock. It was a limited run both times they did it, with very limited production. Personally, the exhuast is going to be moreorless for sound only. I would start with DP's if you can go catless in your area and pass emissions. It will relieve heat and allow the turbos to breathe easier and spool faster, even though actual power gains aren't huge. It will also give your exhaust more growl. If you still want more growl afterwards, than I'd consider full exhaust. If you don't already have a tune, buy that and DCI first though!
