E60 535d Winter tyres
#1
Current tyres are 275/30/19 in the rear and 245/35/19 for front. Do I need to change all 4 or just the rear one? Also what size rear shall I go for, can't find 275/35/19 size specs in winter tyre section What are my best option here?

Definitely you have to change all 4. If you want to keep the 19" size, the right size would be 245/35 R19 all around. I wouldn't recommend a staggered setup for winter.
If you're willing to buy new wheels as well, then I'd suggest 245/40 R18.

I have used the same sizes as the summer as you have mentioned above, I have bought set of Vredestein for about £200 each

Change all four is probably best given the front will just under steer more in snow / ice if you change just the rears..
If you have the storage space get some 17s off flea bay and put winter tyres on them. They will just fit over the brakes and more tyre to play with given the pot holes that will also come with the bad weather. Then switch back in spring..
Hope that helps

bloody hell, didn't realize that changing all 4 will cost me >£800
My insurer may charge me too (yeah, to make my car safer to drive in winter), just tell me can I drive to Austrian skiing holiday if I get winter tyres all round? I have seen in past on snow this high torque rwd monster is horrible, it doesn't work?
is it worth it?

I know about tyre and wheel size but quite confused about offset and ET numbers. Looking to buy a 18" wheel set which has 245 40 18 on them and came from 5 series but the seller lady doesn't know which 5 series they came from.
Would any wheel of 18" size fit my 535d? bar M series.
