E60 5 Series with M5 Conversion Kit completed
#1
Has anyone added a M5 Conversion Kit to their 2004-2007 E60 545i or 550i? Like many others I want the M5 but I don't want to pay $$$ more for it. So I want the M5 look and appearance and I wanted some advice from someone who has modified their 545i/550i to look like a M5. Does anyone have any picture of their E50 5 Series with M5 Conversion they can send me? I want to do the same with my 2005 545i. I see a guy on ebay that has the original E60 M5 Conversion kit with everything to make it look like a M5 except the mirrors. What about a site to purchase mods, kits and so far. What can you tell me? I want to see pics of someone ride!
Thanks,
Bryon

No offense, but why would you want spend money to do that? That's like buying a fake rolex. Anyone that knows BMW's will know it is a fake and the people that can't tell don't care. There will always be tell tale signs it is a wanna be.

I would spend the money because I like the side vent grills. I see your point and point well taken, but I see this mod as being the same as anyone who adds the Front Spoiler, Rear Spoiler or the M-Tech kit to their car to get the track car look. I believe people want different looks, better handling or better performance. I personally like the M5 look....I own a stock 05' S55 AMG, 01' ZConvertible Vette w/432rwhp...just sold last week a 05' CLK55 AMG Cabriolet and I plan to purchase a 06' 550i - I didn't need (2) convertibles, BMW will be my daily car. Your comments got me thinking as I don't want my potential ride to appear fakish, just sporty looking. Good to hear your comments and feedback. I'll see what others think as your opinion matters!

My Ride: 2007 550i..... ex
There are actually a few members here who have done the conversion or have most of the ///M parts on their E60. For one my530i has ///M5 front bumper, used to have quad rears and was looking for ///M5 fenders. He also has ///M steering wheel and ///M SMG shift knob, 166s, ///M trunk spoiler and ///M trunk finisher.
I think the ///M parts are fine as long as you leave out the ///M5 badge.

I was sitting next to a woman driving a fake M5 in Manhattan about a year ago. Our windows were both down and I asked her if she thought she was fooling anyone. She turned her head in a huff and drove off. Pretty sad really.

Why does it have to be considered trying to fool someone? Manufactors make those kits for a reason...so...Why do you have AC Schnitzer Rear Spoiler on your 550i? It didn't come with that setup.
