After searching for what I am sure must be on this forum somewhere, I was unable to find the answer to this question: Can I record music onto a blank DVD and play it from the DVD-nav slot in my E60 (July 2005 build)?

Yes. Good google search for software the extract audio from DVD disk. Burn it as MP3 at constant bit rate and you can play on your BMW E60
