Are the extra wood pieces for the interior standard now? Can the wood e-brake and shifter be ordered with a new car?

I believe the DVD system is listed under the individual options for the 5:

I don't think this is available yet, anywhere. I believe BMW will release it eventually.
If it would be available as of today, ICEMAN would definitely have it by now and he does not :P |

Check out page 8 of this .pdf document. I believe this is the option that the BMW's website link posted by firewired talks about.

It's a shame to learn that this is not an OEM option that's available in the US. I don't generally like the idea of a DVD player in a car; but, I thought this setup in the handrest looked so handsome I was planning to include it in my purchase. |
kfarouki,
This is ICEMAN's personal setup and has nothing to do with a BMW OEM option. I am sure ICEMAN will chime in here, but wanted to let you know, the OEM option shown early on in pics (may be a part of the E60.net photo galler/information) looks like an attachment to the back of both seats, and it will take up some leg room. Hopefully, someone will post a pic soon. |
I also remember seeing one that was a pull down from the roof of the car. It contained both the DVD and the screen in that setup. I believe this option was the more "official" one.
