Anyone have experience with Dunlop Wintersport M3 DSST (runflat version of the M3 winter tire). I have had M3s before and been happy with them, but it looks like Dunlop is going to a new version and I can't get the non-RF M3 in a 17" size from TireRack anymore.

Thanks.

That sucks that you can't get the non-RFT in 17" anymore - the one thing I look forward to when putting my M3s back on is the ride improving!!!

You might want to try Discount Tire (not sure if they have them up there in MI) - here they will match Tirerack's shipped pricing and maybe they can still get the non RFT M3s? Or is there a chance that it is still early and the non-RFTs have not been made yet?

Last but not least, you may want to consider the Nokians (harder to find but I hear great things about them).

I checked with TireRack and Dunlop is updating the M3 line with the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D. I can get that tire in non-runflat, but it is a new tire with no review history. In sum - - a crapshoot! I can get an 18" M3 from TireRack, but (I think) I have decided on a 17" wheel for winter.

I will check out Discount Tire.

17" is the way to go - I trust Dunlops (I've had the Pirellis and the Blizzak LM22s and nothing compares to the Dunlops). Go with the updated 3D and you wont be sorry.

I have the 17" winter setup with M3s RFT, and have had good luck. Just fine. The higher profile for winter (compared to my sport package 18" summers) means a softer ride.

But I'm sure, as doug 999 says, that an updated version would be fine. And given that RFT technology is still being developed, any improvements should be welcome.
