Seeing as my car is from early 2004 I don't have the option to turn off my DRL's in my iDrive menu. I know somebody mentioned the possibility of a dealer turning them off, but how much can I expect to pay a dealer to turn them off? Or would I be better off upgrading to a newer software version of iDrive assuming an update is available (don't know anything about the cost or risk involved in that either.)

I don't think a software update will give the Pre-LCI cars the same functionality the LCI's have. The dealer will need to program to disable the DRL's. Not sure on cost though. I thought I was quoted 100 bux but can't swear to that. I would cal your dealer to inquire.

The updated s/w will not provide iDrive control of your DRLs on your '04 e60.
