Alyssa, use the cupholders in the rear armrest. That's what I do..

Yes, but very difficult because our car is a 6 speed. There isn't enough time to reach back to get your drink in between shifts. In an automatic, or as a passenger, I can use the rear cupholders.

And as for our choice of drinks, it only says no wine glasses!

It's just yet another annoyance with this car that is constantly broken and breaking.

I finally give up and took my E60 to the dealer yesterday, hoping for a quick fix to the driver's side cupholder that was stuck in the closed position.

The only fix: replacing the cupholder under the warranty. This is the only warranty item I've had in the nine months I've owned the car, and I'll have to admit it's a very minor one.

The new cupholder works fine. I'm being very careful in using it, though.

I haven't tried them yet. Since I have the nonfoldable rearbench I think they are further away then with that option.
