Never really had to "hold" the button. Just one press and it would open. But it does feel rather flimsy.
Maybe I just haven't used it enough. <_<
Hope it lasts longer than what most of you guys said.

JDN, you carry fresh beans w/ you? Wow, your are real coffee freak! Is the coffee maker hard wired in the trunk so you can make a fresh cup on the road!

My driver side cupholder worked great in the car for a few months. It held a can fine. Then it would not open so the dealership replaced it. The replacement does not hold a can very well. If the can is close to emply it will just pop out. The passenger side still works fine. They must have caused this problem when they re-engineered the cupholder so it would not stick.

i hardly use my cupholders but i know it's not good for long 20oz bottle. i put a bottle of coke in the driver's side one day. when i made a not so hard turn, it felt on my girlfriend's lap and she had a nice bruise . the cupholders for me are toys for anyone who first sits in my car . they all think that is soooo cool .
