A buddy of mine ordered me one of the color matched door plugs from bumperplugs.com. I got around to installing it tonight. The good news is the color match is perfect. I did, however, need to make a little modification in order to get it to fit. Using the key as a guide, I cut down the plug a bit in order to make it fit in the hole.

not bad. but i wish they have something bigger to cover the whole hole and makes it look like part of the door handle.

I see how it might improve looks, but perhaps door lock plugs are a solution to reduce thefts by twisting out the lock with a screwdriver and opening the windows?
This looks an accessory many people might want. Maybe making it from hard steel and not plastic? I might just cobble something up myself in the shop!

Looks pretty good thou.. how much does it cost? I bought from them the screw to color match the hole of my front bumper for $30+. It's really pricey..

On the E39 there was a cover available, painted in the same color of the car. You were not able to see the keyhole anymore, the handle looked like there is no keyhole.

Not that this has anything to do with plugging holes but did anyone notice that the E39 and the E60 only have keyholes on the driver's side?

Okay, back to the thread...

Yep, and for the E39 drivers side key hole there was a complete cover, not a plug. Painted in the actuall BMW colors. You couldn't tell there is a keyhole underneath.

That's what I would like to have...

Makes the drivers door handle look exactly the same as the passengers side door handle.

Iceman,

Install a rear door, door handle. You'de have no more hole. Or is the rear door handle smaller?

For the US...with the door plug, how do we get the windows to up in unison?
