He lets me drive sometimes... He rides shotgun and knows better than to scratch anything within 10 feet of the E60... Hair isnt a problem since i clean my car regularly...

Hi guys,
Regarding Dogs, how do you put them in the car without scratching the leather? I used to tae my 30kg Pitbull with me everywhere in my Mitsubishi FTO and the car was covered in his hairs!
Now I've got the E60 I have been looking for some type of blanket to cover the back seats?
Regards
Tom
You're kidding me right? Dogs in your $50k+ BMW? Not the smartest move... borrow a friend's car...

My dogs ride in the other car. Once, one of them ran into the garage while I had the back door open doing some detailing and scratched the crap out of my seat. They do make some products for hauling pets, though. GL.

+1

Go to the 'versatility' section and its listed in there.
Linky..
The BMW seat cover is great!! It also comes with zip-in side covers which aren't shown in the picture. We've used one on our previous and current E61s for years now. The only thing we've added are some door shields from a third party for a little extra protection http://www.caninecovers.com/door_shield.html Other than dog snot on the rear windows, there is no wear and tear on the back seats from our dog riding along with us.

yup, that's how we ended up with 2 shih tzu's

I got something similar to this:

http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=3086604

works great for us, just gotta make sure they face each other so they don't freak out when they are in them

I have a 100lb Golden Retriever, 11 months old (big boned!!! don't make him selfconsious calling him fat if he's surfing the forum later...mmmkay!) anyway, I use this http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.as...mp;SKU=15080396 on my back seat. It's a $30 thick canvas cover that hooks over the headrests and under the front of the seats. Tucks into the crack on the horizontal/vertical seat too. It's solid. NO leather damage. Just hair naturally from a golden...but my wife has one in her MDX and me in my E60. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere w/out my puppy! glad this works out for me. the price is most definitely right to give it a shot...of course, if ANY cover moves a heavy dog's nail may cause damage. my dog is also very VERY tame in the car...just sit's staring out the window...so that helps.

good luck.

I allow my 130 imperial mastiff in my car all the time. I would prefer not to but I love him and it his is transportation as well. I have a hammock style thing in the backseat and door panel covers so he really doesn?t get the seats or doors messed up but since he is so tall he gets the roof some what nasty, nothing a good vacuum won?t take out.
