Default Does NE1 have this part number?

I'm getting the Left and Right parking light malfunction messages, so both of my parking light bulbs need replacing. Are they just standard halogen bulbs or do they require a special BMW part?

How difficult is replacement? I've seen some threads where the fender needed to be removed. WTF?

They're normal bulbs that can be bought at any parts store, and your manual will have the bulb type. As for replacing them small hands help, but you don't need to remove your fender.

Question More confused now

Okay, so I diligently checked my owner's manual and found that the parking lamp replacement is a "W 5 W". So I did a Google search and turned up very few, but it seems like the "2825" bulb is a cross-reference, so I did a search on that.

It seems that there are versions that have a filament and those that are LEDs. Prices range from about 5 bucks all the way up to about $30 apiece. I've seen some discussions on the board about people wanting brighter angel eyes. I've got Zenons for my headlights, so I'm pretty happy with them, but should I spring for a brighter 2825? I've also seen the designation "T10".

Can anyone paint me a clearer picture on this?

I have the same issue. Any guidance on the correct bulb and the replacement procedure would be appreciated.

Thanks.... I saw someone with a video of someone replacing these lights. It looks like the headlights remove easily - 4 bolts - and can be pulled out. If not, it seems like there is VERY little room to get your hands in. I ordered new bulbs that should be here in a few days. If you are patient, I will keep track of how it goes and share with you.

I'd appreciate that, Mitch. Thanks!

I think this is the video you're referring to:
. Looks like an LCI though. Mine's pre-LCI. Not sure if it would be different.

Yea easy for some Asian hands, no offense I have respect. My corn fed sausage fingers hate messing with the innards of the e60 headlamps lol

If your looking to upgrade anyway, give Joe at Trinity Autosport : a call. They're lights are reasonably priced and are guaranteed to not have error codes.

I use this to find the Bulb type for my cars.
https://www.sylvania.com/en-us/appli...s/lrgmain.aspx

Removing the headlamp is the easiest way i found to do any work in the headlight or fog lamps. 4 torx screws, disconnect the wiring harness, and a little weird movements and the light comes right out.
